I really enjoyed our activity today. I drew two different aspects of my "social work self." The girl on the left is the social worker I want to be/ how I expected I would feel when I entered this profession. She is vivid, shining and bright. Most importantly, she is confident and happy in her work. The girl on the right represents the aspects of myself that I have been identifying with lately. She is insecure about her desire/ability to be a social worker. She is drawn in dull colors to signify her lack of passion and drive. The dull colors also signify how distant and removed she feels from her professional self. She is also enviously looking at the happy/confident social worker, as if she wants to be her. The happy social worker is looking straight ahead, not focused on anyone else, because she is so fully content in her profession/where she is in life. Drawing these two girls/aspects of myself was very illuminating.
