Art Share: Dog meets Bunny
I really enjoyed the notion of using model magic to create an animal and watching the animals that began to develop around me. When given the task of creating an animal I had no idea of what to create or how I would create it. As I began to brain storm I overheard the professor state you can create anything, a cat or a dog and immediately decided to create a dog. I certainty prefer dogs to cats and have five of my own. I was very pleased with the results and how easy it felt to mold the clay into my desired shape. Once we were instructed to begin the second part of the activity, interacting with a neighbor, I felt odd. I suppose after so many years without toys pretending can be a little uncomfortable.

This post really resonated with me because I also found that interacting with my clay figure and playing was really uncomfortable at first. After I got over whatever I was feeling, it started to be fun. Afterwards, I started to reflect how playing without children present has somehow become something where I was afraid of peer judgement. It bothered me a little bit that I felt uncomfortable and inhibited. I've been thinking more recently on how I incorporate this more.
